Michelle recognises that design tastes are as varied as personalities. What’s beautiful to one person is clutter to the next. So Michelle’s approach is to uncover the preferences, traits and quirks of her clients before she designs a space to make their soul happy.
Never one for a prescriptive path, Michelle’s exciting career has taken her through multiple job roles, locations and interests, always learning more about what makes people tick. From HR consultancy to interior design, her knack for creating a safe and vibrant space for people has been constant.
'Your Design Personality at Home' is Michelle Armitage's first published book. When she embarked on her second career in Interior Design she felt something was missing from her course and set herself the challenge of finding out more about the link between individual psychology and interiors. Then she wrote a book about it! She wanted to share what she had learned. In essence she wrote the book she had been looking for. Now she's got the writing bug, she is working on a second book in what she hopes will become a series.
In her personal life Michelle loves spending time in nature, enjoying wide open spaces and expansive skies. Whenever possible she loves to travel and explore different cultures, architecture, art and people. At home she’s often found rummaging for treasure in flea markets and vintage stores.
